They’re leaning forward - T.V. is dead

Are you familiar with the Middle Ages/Renaissance age theory?

Well back at the Middle Ages only the poor drank water. The rich and “upper class” people drank wine.

By doing so, the “upper class” people, and the rich, which basically controlled everything, simply saying, were drunks. Therefore, the Middle Ages; A dark age with no prosperity, movement or any sort of progress. They where drunks. No more no less.

Now, as time passes something happened; they came to know a drink named: Coffee. At first, no one drank it due to its “poor taste”. But then a rumor came and spread, letting the people to believe that this “Coffee” is good for your stomach, and by that they began to consume it. By doing so, guess what, they woke up with all sort of “great ideas”… and this is the Middle Ages Renaissance age theory.

Now here’s another theory.

One of the “wines” that kept us “drunk” in the last 50 years or so named: T.V.

The couch potatoes of our times, are the drunks of the Middle Ages.

The “Coffee” is the mouse and the keyboard.

And the Renaissance age is the Internet age.

You see, we’re leaning forward.

Take a look at our youngsters. It seems that they just can’t sit in front of the T.V. without “doing something”. They need to stay active. They need it, because in the last 10 years, they’ve been active in front of a screen as opposed to us, the older people, who got used to keep passive as a couch potatoes, in front of the T.V. screen.

The networks executives needs to understand that the days of the passive T.V. are long gone. And if they want to keep pace, they need to start thinking for an active broadcasting.

The Internet, is the new T.V. and I am not renewing any concept here, or maybe I am, to some couch potatoes executives…
